This fall I had the pleasure of shooting some pictures for Melissa that was a gift for her boyfriend. We ordered a poster size of her on the beach and it sounds like it was a great success when his birthday came around. She was so much fun to work with, because she just acted natural and we did not try to do a lot of set up poses. In fact the very best ones were when she was just being herself.
We arrived at our spot nervously watching the clouds as they started to look dark and threatening. It had been nice all day of course! We got to the beach, and had to take cover because the rain started. It only lasted a minute or two and we were able to recover smoothly. I guess that is just how life goes here in the great Northwest!
I was excited to do Chris and Sammy’s engagement shoot this fall as well. These two are such a sweet couple! I loved working with these two, it makes me remeniss being that age and engaged. I’m excited to also do their wedding pictures this spring!
We went to the university campus in town (or I should say out in tim buk two). I had never been there, but it was a beautiful drive getting there. It was late in the day so we were racing against the setting sun… Photographers call this the “yummy” light, and I learned quickly why.
I got together with my sister in-laws three kids, to do their yearly pictures. We went to a local park close to their home. I learned quickly that each kid must take turns with who is going to be a little bit obnoxious for me each year. Last year it was the newly turned thirteen year old Gabriel, this year it was their younger sister Isabella. I still a lot of fun seeing what we could come up with. I must admit, I think Joshua could do magazines, he wont admit it, but he is great in front of the camera.
Most recently, I had the pleasure of capturing the beauty of childbearing.. Amelie was 8months pregnant at the time we got together. She already has long slender lines, now with the cutest baby bump ever! This was not my first time doing a maternity shoot, but so far I think it was my best. I think we spent about 3 hours together, my hot lights and open windows to try to even things out. I am excited to meet her little one when she finally gets here!
